Alicia Greenberg

In 2008 I participated in an online writing group wherein each of us were challenged to create a new superhero based upon a fictional rewriting of Earth's history. I ended up with Angeldawn, an alien transplant to Earth suffering from amnesia. Under her mundane identity as Alicia Greenberg she became the CEO of a major multinational aerospace company. Her experiences living through the two world wars gave her a strong humanist streak with a passion for protecting the innocent.

I wanted to explore the loneliness, isolation, and distrust that comes with these “gifts” – power and influence as a CEO versus the power and influence as a superhero. I also wanted to contrast the job descriptions – is it possible to pursue financial wealth and protect shareholder value in one part of your life while simultaneously working to protect the public good and uplift all of humanity in another?

Unfortunately the project never made it any further than the design and concept phase, so I never got around to actually writing much fiction involving this character.
